My View

I am a sucker for romance and the title of the book "The 23rd Girl" intrigued me. The book is written in a simple language and is bound to connect with boys. Yes, you read it right! though girls are more known to fall for love stories, here is a book centered on boy, his playfulness and trysts. Rashv, the main lead is the boy-next-door turning into the most eligible bachlor and he is indeed very inspiring .

The character of Roohi is also well-written and though she occupies lesser space it does leaves one with a smile on face. Infact, I love the part where Roohi enters Rashv's life. The chemistry between the two and the way the story moves from there on is very gripping and emotional.

Some beautiful lines from the book -

"There's a reason why we have ribcages, our hearts have wings."

"Life's not about how hard of a hit you can give back, its about how many hits you can take and still keep moving forward."

"The overwhelming amount of guilt one needs to deal with when you just decide to let people go, slip away from your fingers like dry sand."

"The thing about heartbreak is that....you may not realise it, but it's permanent.".

The negatives -

It has a slow beginning and at places abrupt sequence. I want the author to leave some moments to readers imagination but there are certain places were the depiction is way too much. and some places very less.

Overall I will rate it 2.5/5 as for the slow and predictable story line, I didn't find it gripping enough. It may strike a chord with people looking for something - light and easy.
